Business opportunities in Hallstahammar

Stockholm is Scandinavia’s natural hub, a centre of commerce and culture that sets the tone of the region. Various forms of cooperation between Stockholm and the municipalities of the Mälardalen region are being developed to actively maintain that position.

The partnering with Hallstahammar is an example of how a municipality can contribute to the region’s growth by improving the local conditions for establishing businesses and attracting entrepreneurs. The network is being marketed under the brand “Stockholm – The Capital of Scandinavia”.

Industrial production is an important part of our municipality’s economy. For more than 370 years, industries have florished in Hallstahammar – from the first forge in Trångfors to today’s modern enterprises.

Today, the local economy has broadened considerably. This means that many more people are working in the service, commerce and consultancy industries – industries that also help you enjoy living and working here. The expansion has taken off and new construction projects are underway in our municipality and we are proud that more and more people are discovering the benefits of settling down and working here.

From here, the entire Mälarardalen valley lies within easy reach. The cities and towns of the municipality, two water ports and one airport are located barely half an hour away and you can reach Stockholm in just over one hour. Here you’ll find good schools with small classes, no childcare queues and free public transport. In a small municipality, the path to decisions are as short as the walking distances. The municipality comprises three main population centres: Strömsholm, Kolbäck and Hallstahammar.
